Why GOD made a Farmer....
Thank GOD for Farmers..
I've said it a million times and I'll say it again...
I'm very proud to be a Farmer's Daughter!
Enjoy the above youtube clip.
I think it is brilliant and is so true. You don't have to be a Farmer to appreciate the message.
Happy weekend everyone!
Peace.

Friday Phone Photos!
Being a farm kid I take for granted the easy access to critters of all kinds. I forget not everyone is surrounded by sloppy kissing dogs and purrrrrrring little puff balls.
We always had critters, all kinds, and they were and still are considered part of the family. Animals bring a kind of love to our hearts that is unconditional and doesn't need to be expressed with money or even words. Animals love no matter what, just like children.
Andrew has had a lot of exposure to Grampa & Grama's animals but he still loves to cruise through the pet store. I'm not a fan of pet stores (boo caged animals) but it is a quick and easy way to capture giggles and it lets Andrew's imagination go wild. He points and wobbles from window to window jibber jabbering and kissing the glass. It is this sweet innocence that makes my heart melt. Any day is a great day for a trip to the pet store.
No, we did not come home with a kitty cat!

Celebrating ONE!
I'm a wee bit behind on posts... might have something to do with the little man I'm shifting from hip to hip? Might have more to do with the overwhelming 198 pictures I've been taking each day and can't seem to pick the prettiest or most perfect.
Last weekend was a significant milestone. We celebrated ONE!
With our family surrounding us we laughed, made messes, shared hugs, created memories and rung in the magical one year with CAKE CAKE CAKE at the farm!
What a year.
What a family.
What a blessing.
What a great birthday party.
What a thankful Mumma I am.
I'm so grateful to unwrap new adventures with Andrew every single day.
Not all these adventures are family fun time but I wouldn't trade one of them in. Not for a new fancy house, not for a lottery, not even for a shiny diamond ring as big as my head. Andrew is the greatest of the great even during challenging moments (and he hasn't handed us too many.... yet).
This will be my last of the happy birthday posts because we are working on memories for year TWO!
Happy weekend everyone!

Angels!
Sigh.
Today I had my faith in human beings restored. It has brought me the most amazing feeling.
Calgary is a nutty city. BIG, BUSY, BOSSY, BIG DEALS!
BOO! BOO! BOO!
But once in a while we are given a glimmer of hope, yes hope, that people are just people and will help others when they really just need a hand, no matter how busy, bossy, or big deals they are.
It is glorious and generous and today I'm so grateful to say THANK YOU.
As usual I was pushing the teeny tiny window I have to get out and about between Andrew's naps. YUP, two naps a day and my entire world revolves around those naps. Some call me the NAP NAZI. It is true, I have a smiley, wonderful natured little man that proves it is worth it. SO...
We hit up a few important errands and one was the dreaded Superstore (they have kick ass pumpkins this time of year - the ONLY reason I was willing to test my patience at that place).
We were in.
We were out.
We bought pumpkins.
And swim diapers
And a million other little and big items that we can't possibly live without!
I basically had a cart full of groceries and a little man begging for his 3pm snack. Nice work Mamma, way to neglect your child's basic needs! It was 3:15.
Didn't I go for JUST pumpkins?
Anyway, as we approached the vehicle I was kicked in the teeth at the sight of a dead flat tire. SOOOO FLAT. Not just flat or needing a bit of a lift... it was cut and flat and ugly and oooohhhhh I just know I hit that curb going thru the Tim Hortons parking lot an hour ago. CRAP!
I panicked, and googled AMA (from the iphone of course) I was put on hold and transfered and told my membership had expired, and so had Darcy's and bla de dah dah. Gotta love customer service these days.
An amazing fellow with a big bushy mustache interrupted my phone call to offer to change it for me.
He had a Russian accent, that was obvious. He also had 10 mins to spare. Do people really have 10 mins to spare these days? WOW! What a beautiful thing.
He told me he was a mechanic and if his wife needed help he'd hope that someone, anyone would come to her rescue. After 20 mins of really pleasant conversation I was driving away with a grin that nearly hit the roof of my car. What a great feeling.
SIGH... there are angels. They have no color or race or religion or sex. They are just like you and I. They just help. We all need help. I can't wait to pass along this amazing feeling.
PS. After arguing with him to accept money or a hug or anything, he finally accepted a Tim Hortons gift card I had purchased earlier in the day. There are more gift cards to be purchased, we will get to that. But the feeling of being rescued was a beautiful gift.
Thank you Russian man, 55+, with a big bushy mustache!

Thankful!
Andrew's first birthday fell on Thanksgiving Sunday so we decided to spend most of the day just the three of us.
We went swimming, drank coffee at our favorite coffee shop BEANO, and ended the day with a turkey dinner over at Nama's (and don't forget the all important NAPS! We had a few of those). It was another day to be amazingly THANKFUL. Health, family, and a handsome little man. Life is so busy we often forget that is all we really need. I need constant reminders, and if I just stop and look around these simple reminders are everywhere.
I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend doing whatever it is you love to do...
