Going to the zoo zoo zoo.

Us and everyone else in Calgary that is.
Hot day + end of school year = crowds beyond my comprehension.

Let me just say the 2 hours we were there was a blur.
Toddlers, babies, heat, overtired everyone… not my greatest showing.

BUT
I did get to see a girlfriend and her babies.  So all was not lost.

A few from our Zoo adventures this week.  We hadn't been in a while.

Her 2 1/2 year old is a really cool kid.  She's already a little old lady.  I get a giggle out of her.

Buggy. SIX MONTHS ALREADY!?

She's SIX months old!  Our Baby Buggy Bug.
(ok, closer to SEVEN but I'm trying to catch up).

She LOVES her soothers.

… and by LOVE I mean she hoards them.  Always has one within reach.  One in her mouth and one in each hand.  It hilarious.

She laughs from her toes all day long.  HAPPY is a great word to describe our Bug.

She ADORES her big brother.  I can't say I blame her, he is such a cool dude!

She can almost sit up, is eating real food, and is crazy tall for her age.

She is the most beautiful blue eyed girl I've ever met.

and she has my Mom's crooked grin (what an awesome trait to share).

I'm so happy to be her Mumma.
(even if she still wakes up multiple times at night to snack… )

(don't let these cute smiles trick ya… some little boy was being a stinker - BRIBERY to get these shots).

Siblings...

I hope they always pause to look at one other.
I hope they always take the time to listen as well…

Dad.

He holds our children with such kind and generous hands.
He is Dad to them.  A true Hero.
He is amazing to me.  A selfless Man.

Happy Father's Day to him.
Love you so much.
xo.

He is my Dad.
Wise and gentle and wanting the greatest of everything for his family, all of us.
So lucky to have this man in my life.
I love you Dad!

Tonight during prayers...

"I am thankful for:
     Tankie.
     My Combine.
     Diggers.
     My clean bed.
     Baby Anna.
     My skid steer.
     Joey."

I almost cried.
My boy has a heart of gold.
Every night we do Prayers.  He always asks to start.
For Andrew and I that means listing all of the things off that we have and love and are grateful for.
He is learning that not everyone has all of the "things" that we do.  All of the opportunities that we have.  All of the resources we can access.
Slowly.
But he IS learning.

I know he knows, he's a smart little boy.

Tonight, and every night, I am thankful for a zillion things, especially these two!

Bikes.

I put on my big girl panties today and set out on my first mountain bike ride.
It's been a while.
A very long while.

It was glorious!

I only fell once.
The bummed knee held on for me.
I broke a sweat.
And I rode with cattle.  How awesome is that?

Oh yeah, and I am extremely OUT OF SHAPE.

I liked it so much I'll do it again tomorrow.

Last few weeks...

Last couple of weeks have been filled with a bit of exhaustion, business trips, sicknesses, new routines, and exhaustion… oh right, I already mentioned that one, what about sickness? It goes on and on and on and...
We are approaching the 6 month post partum phase, a personal challenge in all ways ugly for me.
Fingers crossed and closing my eyes.  UGH!

These little smiles and hearts fill me with heeps of joy and that is the focus right now.

We keep on smiling and experiencing…

Because we know that is what we are meant to do.
Daddy is back home and all is right in our home.

Praise to Grama & Papa for extra hands and help.  They just know when my heart needs them like I'm still 10 years old.  So grateful to be able to count on them 100% of the time for help, in all kinds of ways. No questions asked.  Ever.
