We often ride the train just for fun.  Cheap entertainment!

Every part of riding the Ctrain is fun to Bean.  

It's a wonder to watch him soak it all up.  No cares in the world.

His favorite part is always "clunkin" the ticket.  He will "clunk it" four or five times.

EVERY time we ride the train we have a serious talk about respecting the yellow line.

Safety first big time on this train.

The waiting huts have heaters.

BONUS!

Riding the Ctrain during non peak hours makes it tolerable.
He sees things on there that I suppose many children don't have the opportunity to see.
I soak up the moments.  One day he'll be riding it without me to school.  SNIFF!
I already know those days are coming too fast.

SPLASH!

Splash parks in our city are fun.
Kids running and screaming.
Kids running and fighting over cheap blow up floaties.
Kids running and crying.

And my kid.... running and trying to be naked.  WITH a digger of course.

... including melt down face (it lasted only long enough for me to snap the proof - honest, it was a bit funny).  Indeed a great day.

Exploring Reader Rock Garden

So very peaceful!
Reader Rock Garden is a wee oasis in the middle of a crazy busy city.
If you live in or near Calgary and have not been.... you must.  Simple as that.
My dear friend has been involved with this Heritage Garden for many years and we talk about it a lot.

I can see why she puts her heart and mind into helping promote and preserve this gorgeous piece of history.  It is heavenly and the story of this stunning legacy is one you really must read over.

Today Bean and I took a tour through the beautiful garden.  We climbed stairs, smelt flowers, found secret pathways and put our imagination to the test.  What a fun place to take an almost 3 year old who loves to climb, explore, and breathe fresh air.  I can't wait to go back and spend more time exploring. The Tea House there is quaint and classy.  It is officially on my list of places to take my Mom on a special date.  SIGH.

Explorers!

We live 2 long blocks from a brand new city transit station.

It is shinny and safe and full of blinking bright sparkly, AND LOUD, bells and lights. Thankful we don't hear anything from our home.

This station was a long time in the making... in fact, Bean wasn't even a pod in Mumma's belly when they broke ground.

It was also a LARGE pain in the traffic arse for a few years. By a few I mean over 5!  HELLO NIGHTMARE RUSH HOURS!

 

Now we cruise a stop or two for cheap entertainment.

On Valentines, Bean and I did a 3 stop up & back adventure.

So fun. So much to look at. So many lessons to learn as we go.

We are great Explorers!

 

There will be many more train journeys in our toddler years.

And this paranoid, overprotective Mumma Bear is a hard core saftey nut.  I'll admit, I'm putting the fear of the yellow line in my child.  DO NOT step close or over that yellow line.

SAFETY never takes a holiday!

Documenting our day....

Yesterday we took in the Science Centre!  AGAIN!
Otherwise known as the SENSA.
This season pass has been a great spend for us.

It is full of light, and lessons, and corners of happiness.
It is perfection to littles and bigs of all ages, interests, and social abilities.

We love it so.

At the end of each Science Centre day we fall asleep to naps and bedtime remembering all the magic.
