On being a MOM.

Hardest job ever.
Most rewarding job ever.
I'm often torn between guilt and bliss and my own Mom tells me that is just part of this gig… enjoy the journey.

I love being a Mom.  I always knew I'd be rewarded with this title.  I just didn't know it would be such a ride…. such an exhausting and bumpy and BEST DAMN DAYS EVER ride!

Happy Mother's Day to the Moms, Gramas, Moms to be, Adopted Moms, birth Moms, Aunties and anyone who has a role in raising little and big people.

And everyday I thank someone mighty...

I hope you had a great Mother's Day if you are a Mumma or know someone that is.
I come from a long line of pretty great ones.

A day for Mom?

Mother's Day means many things to me.
This year it was low key just like I like it.  Chores, naps, fence peaking games, and Tim Hortons!
Aside from the men doing the chores and Grama sitting like a Princess in the lawn chair  (well deserved supervising indeed!) I can take two things away from these photos:
1.  Andrew is in need of a haircut
2.  Our fence is screaming for a paint job.
OK, three things...
3.  I'm so happy to have smiling and wonderful family members!
Not a bad way to spend a backyard day.

(Andrew is wearing his Superman swim get-up because it was sprinkler running weather that just happened to be interrupted by chores, dirt, pizza, and fun with Papa & Grama.  I swear I don't dress my child up like a creepy superhero everyday).

My Mom!

My MOM is an exceptional woman!

Kind to all creatures big and small.
  TOUGH when it makes the most sense.
Generous to everyone and everything.
  WISE to know when to pick the right battles.
Genius to all the important little life lessons.
  PATIENT to let me pick my own course.
Funny exactly when she needs to be.
  STERN when it is the smart to do so.
Adventurous when around the corner there is a journey to explore.
  HARD WORKING when things need to be done.

My Mom is the most tender and loving Mom, Grama & Friend.
She has self respect, stories for miles, ideas to make 6 lifetimes enjoyable and a heart of gold with rubies and diamonds.  She is brave, a fighter, a getter done kinda gal.  She's honest, and diplomatic and has more patience than anyone I know.  I continue to learn the ins and outs of life from my Mom.

I hope to be half the Mom to Andrew as she is to me... and that isn't a cliche I'm throwing around.
She is KICK ASS!

Have a beautiful MOTHER'S DAY, you deserve an ice cream sundae with cherries, sprinkles, and twisty sparklers that blow out leprechaun kisses and high fives! Today, and everyday.
