Harvie Passage

An incredibly gorgeous place in our big city.
Next weekend I'm doing a photo session here so naturally I asked my number one 'Location Scout' to check things out.

It is a very peaceful spot with so much to hear and see right at the waters edge.
An amazing view of downtown and all sorts of beautiful city landmarks.

This area has undergone incredible transformation after the June 2013 flood devastation.
In fact, it continues to go through a transition to ensure safety and enjoyment for us all.
It is a beautiful spot for a run, walk, or mini adventure hike.



I'd highly recommend NOT walking along the train bridge as the one individual is in my photo collage below.  YIKES!!!

Bikes.

I put on my big girl panties today and set out on my first mountain bike ride.
It's been a while.
A very long while.

It was glorious!

I only fell once.
The bummed knee held on for me.
I broke a sweat.
And I rode with cattle.  How awesome is that?

Oh yeah, and I am extremely OUT OF SHAPE.

I liked it so much I'll do it again tomorrow.

Exploring Reader Rock Garden

So very peaceful!
Reader Rock Garden is a wee oasis in the middle of a crazy busy city.
If you live in or near Calgary and have not been.... you must.  Simple as that.
My dear friend has been involved with this Heritage Garden for many years and we talk about it a lot.

I can see why she puts her heart and mind into helping promote and preserve this gorgeous piece of history.  It is heavenly and the story of this stunning legacy is one you really must read over.

Today Bean and I took a tour through the beautiful garden.  We climbed stairs, smelt flowers, found secret pathways and put our imagination to the test.  What a fun place to take an almost 3 year old who loves to climb, explore, and breathe fresh air.  I can't wait to go back and spend more time exploring. The Tea House there is quaint and classy.  It is officially on my list of places to take my Mom on a special date.  SIGH.

Family Fall Session. Calming!

The words calm, kind, and gentle come to the tip of my tongue with this post.
Suzanne & Paul are all those wonderful words.
I love being around nice children. And these kiddos have a genuine niceness to them.
Zach and Hanna are easy to be around.

I've known Suzanne for a lot of years.  In fact I knew her long before she knew me.
I was a Lifeguard.  She was the smooth swimmer in the pool.  Very talented 15 year old at that time.

Out paths separated and have come back together in all kinds of ways.
This wonderful Mom has become such a huge support to me, a role model and a friend for life.  Being a nurse, she has been an amazing resource to me as a Mumma.  Paul comes by the nickname, DIESEL, honestly.  This man can ride a bike like no one I've ever known.

Wonderful folks.
And the wee sweet girl in these photos is one day older than my wee man and is truly as sweet as she looks.
The blonde boy, I could hang out with this lil dude for weeks.  He has spirit galore and is very tender hearted!
